Durham CSGS Summer School

csgshomeThe Centre for Sex, Gender and Sexuality at Durham University have announced their 2014 Summer School.  Called ‘Thinking Gender and Sexuality in the 21st Century’, it takes place on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th July, at the Lindisfarne Centre, Durham University.

This two-day event is a place for postgraduate and early career researchers to develop their methodological expertise and present their own research on gender and sexuality among leading international scholars. This Summer School will offer the opportunity to engage in methodological and career training and present research at an academic conference in a welcoming and supportive environment. It will feature three keynote lectures:

Professor Steve Epstein: Inventing sexual health: From emergence to niche standardization Professor Hector Carrillo: ‘Straight with a pinch of Bi’: Men’s sexual flexibilities and their implications Professor Feona Atwood: Publishing sexualities research in the social sciences, are alls scheduled to speak.

The cost for both days is £30, including: workshops on methods and planning an academic career; lunch and refreshments on both days; dinner on Thursday 10th July with entertainment provided by British Jazz Trumpeter, Yazz Ahmed.
