A commentary and resource on Law and Sexuality by Professor Chris Ashford and guests
I’m really excited about this event that is planned for November 2015. It’s open to all those in roles aligned with ‘law work’, academics and students. It might seem a while off but given it’s the first of the kind, I’m sure the organisers would appreciate getting a feel for potential attendee numbers sooner rather than later. Here’s s slightly modified version of the invite:
You are all invited to attend the first Northern LAGLA Event on Saturday, 21st November 2015! The Lesbian and Gay Lawyers Association (‘LAGLA’) are a group committed to representing and celebrating LGBT diversity within the legal profession, be it in the world of solicitors, barristers, or academics.
This event will be in aid of creating a Northern LAGLA division, in order to help raise awareness of and represent support for LGBT legal professionals – so certainly not just for the LGBT! For this event to succeed it is important that we have non-LGBT law students, academics and professionals present – you are welcome to invite any friends who study law, (they don’t have to be based in Newcastle!) Not only will it be a celebration of the profession’s diversity, but an excellent networking opportunity with all types of legal workers including successful lawyers, barristers, members of the judiciary and academics. It will be a night filled with drinks, music and speakers to make sure that everyone has a great time.
Essentially, you can be part of history, a great night and we encourage everyone to show support.
Click here to register for the event. There are only 200 tickets and it is on a first come, first serve basis – so hurry!
