Law and Sexuality

A commentary and resource on Law and Sexuality by Professor Chris Ashford and guests

SomethingDark SDK03

front-coverBack in 2010 and then in 2011, I commented on the launch and second issue of Something Dark respectively.  The online magazine project describes it’s purpose as being ‘to explore creativity, intellect and modern society at their darker boundaries – an open space where art, photography, writing and cultural discourse converge with avant-garde eroticism, fashion… and a touch of something more ambiguous.

If you are attracted by the Sirens of previously unimagined places, if you’re inclined towards the baroque recesses of the mind, a labyrinthine expanse that demands respect, then you’re in the right place.

Or there’s McDonald’s.’

Well, after something of a hiatus, the team are back with a third issue and it’s well worth checking out.  This latest issue features a series of photos and text from Ulli Richter exploring gay male kink imagery and they are cool pictures.  So cool that I haven’t posted any here as there is the occasional sight of a penis. Whilst I’m sure most of you could cope with such a sight, past experience suggests some of you might not.  There’s also a feature by Howard Litchfield and pete Beck that reminded me of Luke Halls’ 2013 video for the Pet Shop Boys Axis track, but that’s slightly less ‘on topic’.  Anyway, check out the latest issue here.
